Tuesday Tips. (18/03/25)

Tuesday 18th March 2025

7.00 Wolverhampton: Win £1M With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap: My first selection of the evening on Tuesday comes within the 7.00 at Wolverhampton which is Class 6 handicap action over seven furlongs. I’m siding with Pembrokeshire here for Michael Appleby and Alistair Rawlinson. He’s slightly disappointed on his two starts for this stable to date, with both of those runs coming at Southwell. He was slightly hampered on his most recent outing and was also too free, in a race in which he was well-supported in the betting. He’ll contest this affair of a mark which is now six pounds lower than his last winning one and he represents a trainer that excels on the all weather. There should be improvement to come. Pembrokeshire – 6/1 (Each-Way)

7.30 Wolverhampton: Gamble Responsibly At BetMGM Handicap: Next up for me is the 7.30 and this is another Class 6 handicap, contested over a mile and half of a furlong. I’m taking a chance on the ten-year-old Young Fire here for David O’Meara and Cian Horgan who takes off five pounds. He’s not shown his best form as of late, however, he’s dropped into Class 6 company for the first time in a while here, and considering he was once rated in the 100s he should have enough ability to be competitive at this level. He’s now eight pounds below his last winning one mark, with the extra five coming off with his rider’s claim, and I think he could bounce back here. Young Fire – 28/1 (Each-Way) (4 places – Sky Bet, Paddy Power)

8.00 Wolverhampton: BetMGM: It’s Showtime Handicap: My third and final selection comes within the 8.00 and this is more Class 6 handicap action and ridden over six furlongs on this occasion. I’ve come down on the unexposed Elland Road Girl here for Mike Murphy and Alfie Redman who takes off seven pounds. She hasn’t shown much in her short career to date, however, she should progress from her last run which was her handicap debut. Notably, she’ll effectively be contesting this race off a ten-pound lower mark with her rider’s claim, and this is also an ease in grade with that last run coming within Class 5 company. I wouldn’t be surprised to see significant improvement. Elland Road Girl – 40/1 (Each-Way) (4 places – Several firms)
