Saturday Preview (28)

.42 Windsor: Free Digital Racecard At raceday-ready.com Fillies’ Novice Stakes: My first selection of the week on Monday comes in the 2.42 at Windsor which is a Class 4 fillies novice event that’s ridden over six furlongs. I’m with Rikissa in this for Ralph Beckett and Rossa Ryan. She went off the 7/4 favourite on her racecourse debut last month at Newbury when finishing third of eleven over six furlongs. She should improve for that effort here and a drop down to six could see her to best effect, she’s a big player for red-hot connections. Rikissa – 5/2 (Win)

.20 Musselburgh: Ray Hawthorne Memorial Handicap: It’s over to Musselburgh for my second selection of the afternoon and this is a Class 5 handicap which is contested over two miles. I like Reel Her In here who represents the team of Ben Haslam and Paul Mulrennan. She opened her account for this yard last time out at this track when staying on very strongly at the end to get up on the line by a neck. That success gave the impression that a step up in trip here could see further improvement from here and off just a pound higher I think she could well go close again in this. Reel Her In – 7/4 (Win) (NAP)

.20 Musselburgh: Gloria Roche Memorial Handicap: I’m staying at Musselburgh for my third pick and this comes in the 4.20 which is a Class 6 handicap over seven furlongs. I think that this could go to Golden Valour for Mike Smith and Rhys Elliott who takes off seven pounds. I put him up last week at Ayr when he finished third of nine and he should go well again here off the same mark. His time is surely coming judging by his latest efforts and he’s the play for me in this low-grade affair. Golden Valour – 8/1 (Each-Way)

.00 Wolverhampton: Stay At The Wolverhampton Holiday Inn Novice Stakes: My fourth and final selection of the day comes from Wolverhampton and the 5.00 which is a Class 3 novice event over five furlongs. I’m with Veblen Good in this for Karl Burke and Clifford Lee. The yard are no strangers to success with their two-year-olds and I think that this one is another that presents them with a significant winning opportunity. He was second on his racecourse debut at Sandown last time out and he should build on that here, I think he looks the most likely winner in what doesn’t seem an overly strong contest for a Class 3. Veblen Good – 9/2 (Win) (NB)
