Monday Tips. (17/03/25)

Monday 17th March 2025

5.00 Wolverhampton: Gamble Responsibly At BetUK Classified Stakes: Kicking things off for me on Monday will be the 5.00 at Wolverhampton which is a Class 6 classified event over five furlongs. I like the seven-year-old Sir Benedict here for the team of Stella Barclay and Jason Hart. He’s gone close on several occasions as of late, and ran another very solid race last time out at Newcastle when third of eight earlier this month. He’s been dropped a pound for his efforts there and will contest this off a four-pound lower mark than his last winning one. The yards in form and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a bold showing. Sir Benedict – 6/1 (Each-Way)

6.30 Wolverhampton: Win £1M With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap: My second selection comes within the 6.30 and this is a Class 6 handicap which is set to be ridden over a distance of seven furlongs. I’m taking a chance on Lequinto here who represents Tony Carroll and is the mount of Rossa Ryan. His best days are almost certainly behind him, however, he hasn’t been running badly as of late with a couple of placed efforts to his name. He’s definitely well-handicapped on his old form, and comes into this race on a mark which is seventeen pounds lower than his last winning one. I think he’s got one of these low-grade handicaps in him and it could well be this particular affair. Lequinto – 9/2 (Each-Way)

7.00 Wolverhampton: Free Bets With BetUK Bet Club Handicap: Next up for me will be the 7.00 and this is another Class 6 handicap, this time ridden over six furlongs. I’ve sided with Francisco in this for Patrick Chamings and Alfie Redman who takes off seven pounds. The majority of the field here are exposed, however, he’s an unexposed four-year-old who put a disappointing handicap debut behind last time out at Chelmsford when finishing second of nine, where he still looked as though he was learning on the job. He’ll contest this off the same mark as the Chelmsford run and if he’s to progress again he could go even closer. Francisco – 9/2 (Each-Way)

8.30 Wolverhampton: Gamble Responsibly At BetMGM Classified Stakes: My fourth and final selection of the day comes within the 8.30 and this is a Class 6 classified event which is contested over a mile and half of a furlong. I’m with Ocean Odyssey here for Murty McGrath and Tom Queally. He’s a ten-race maiden, however, was sent off favorite for his stable debut last month at Lingfield and ran well, finishing fourth of ten and just a couple of lengths behind the winner. Things didn’t go his way either that day, as he was hampered early on in the run but has been generously dropped a couple of pounds by the handicapper. The extra half of a furlong could also suit given he was outpaced slightly last time and I think that he could well make amends here. Ocean Odyssey – 11/4 (Win)
