1.55 Redcar: Celebrating 60 Years Of Cleveland Mountain Rescue Handicap: SUPERNOVA STEPS ran better than her finishing position reflects last time out at Wolverhampton when finishing ninth of thirteen, as she was only two and three-quarters of a length behind the eventual winner, and she also didn’t get a clear run. She’s been dropped a further pound here and has another five coming off her back via William Pyle’s claim. Supernova Steps – 13/2 (Each-Way)
2.48 Fakenham: Fairfax & Favor Juvenile Maiden Hurdle: DAMBUSTER was rated as high as 91 on the flat and posted a very encouraging effort on his hurdles debut at Stratford last month when finishing second of ten and two and a half lengths behind the winner. That was his first run following a break, and he should almost certainly improve following that outing. This looks like a fine opportunity for him to open his account within this sphere. 3.40 Redcar: Flat Is Back On Racing TV Handicap: CRUYFF TURN ran well here on his seasonal reappearance earlier this month, finishing fourth of twelve and just two and a half lengths behind the winner. That was over a mile, and he weakened in the closing stages on that occasion. He remains a maiden, however, that was his best run to date, and should he progress again as is expected on his second start, he has to be considered a significant player here for the team of Tim Easterby and David Allan.
