2.10 Beverley: Beckside Spa Retreat EBF Novice Stakes: Kicking things off for me on Tuesday will be the 2.10 at Beverley which is a Class 5 novice event over a mile and half of a furlongs. I like Springbok here for Richard Fahey and Oisin Orr. He’s had three starts to date and his best effort was his latest when finishing third of seven in a Class 2 event at York earlier this month. His pedigree suggest that he should enjoy this step up in trip and he’s the one they have to beat. Springbok – 11/4 (Win) (NB)
3.45 Listowel: Edmund & Josie Whelan Memorial Listowel Stakes: It’s over to Listowel now for my second selection which is the Listed Listowel Stakes over a mile and a furlong. I’m with Princess Child here for Joseph O’Brien and Declan McDonogh. She’s placed in three Listed races already this season and was arguably unlucky not to get her head in-front in her latest outing at Killarney in August. This doesn’t look like the strongest of affairs and I think she looks rock-solid. Princess Child – 9/2 (Win)
4.05 Warwick: eventmasters.co.uk Mares’ Handicap Hurdle: My third selection of the day comes in the 4.05 at Warwick which is a Class 5 handicap hurdle over two miles and three furlongs. I’m taking a chance on I Am Gonna Be here for Charlie Longsdon and Lilly Pinchin. She ran a decent enough race last time out at Wincanton in what was a deeper contest than this, and that was her first run following a wind operation. She’s been dropped a further three-pounds for that effort and can go well here off what looks like a tempting mark. I Am Gonna Be – 9/1 (Each-Way)
4.30 Beverley: Ward Homes Yorkshire Handicap: It’s back to Beverley for my final pick of the day and the 4.30 which is a Class 4 handicap over seven and a half furlongs. I like Capital Guarantee here for David O’Meara and Danny Tudhope. He ran his best race for some time at Thirsk last week when finishing a length second of twelve and remains on the same mark here. If he turns up in the same kind of form he should be going close once again. Capital Guarantee – 5/2 (Win) (NAP)
