.30 Warwick: Charlie Wilson Memorial Maiden Hurdle: I’ll be starting off at Warwick on Thursday with the 1.30 which is a maiden hurdle that’s contested over two miles and three furlongs. I’m strong on Zonda here who represents Jonjo O’Neil and is the mount of Jonjo Jr. He posted a fine effort within handicap company here last time out when finishing second and being well clear of the third, and if he runs up to the level of that form again here he should prove very tough to beat. It would be disappointing should he not get his head in front in a race of this nature soon, as he’s clearly got the ability. Zonda – 3/1 (Win) (NAP)

.45 Beverley: Happy Birthday Andy Hill Handicap: My second selection of the afternoon comes from within the 2.45 at Beverley which is handicap action over five furlongs. I like the chances of Elegant Erin here for the team of Paul Midgley and David Nolan. She’s not been disgraced in her three outings so far this term, her most recent effort came at Pontefract earlier this month where she finished fourth of eight. She’s now a pound lower than her last winning mark which came over course and distance, with that success also coming on soft ground. I think she’s got every chance of being bang there in this. Elegant Erin – 8/1 (Each-Way)

.35 Perth: AK Bets Big Prices Big Limits Handicap Hurdle: It’s over to Perth for my third pick of the day which is handicap hurdle action over two miles and four furlongs. I’m with Milo Lises here who represents Willie Mullins and Brian Hayes. He comes into the race having got his head in front in maiden company back in February at Punchestown and looks to have much more of a progressive profile than some of his rivals here. He could prove better than this opening handicap mark and I think he’s the one they have to beat. Milo Lises – 5/2 (Win) (NB)

.20 Warwick: John Sillett Memorial Handicap Hurdle: Selection number four comes from Warwick and the 4.20 which is more handicap hurdle action, this time over three miles and a furlong. I’m siding with Take No Chances here for the team of Dan & Harry Skelton. She was narrowly denied by a nose last time out at Newbury back in March on what was her second start within handicap company, with the first three that day pulling well clear of the rest of the field. She’s been raised four pounds for that effort, however, she still looks progressive and I think she can make her presence felt in this. Take No Chances – 4/1 (Win)

.10 Huntingdon: Racehorse Shares From £45 At rracingclub.com Novices’ Handicap Chase: My fifth and concluding selection of the afternoon comes from Huntingdon and their 5.10 which is a novice handicap chase over two miles and four furlongs. I like Glencassley here for Charlie Longsdon and Richie McLernon. He won well on what was his chase debut last month at Hereford and will contest this off just a three-pound higher mark. A lot of his rivals here aren’t looking well treated and I think the Longsdon nine-year-old could well go in again in what doesn’t look like the strongest of handicaps. Glencassley – 3/1 (Win)
