2.55 Goodwood: Ypo Southern 7 Handicap: We get things underway on Wednesday at Goodwood and in the 2.55 which is a Class 2 handicap over a mile. This looks like a good opportunity for Rhoscolyn to bounce back for David O’Meara and Danny Tudhope. He’s dropped back down to the same mark as his last winning one and this race doesn’t look as deep as the competitive handicaps he’s been contesting lately. He’s a course and distance winner and can make his presence felt on ground which he shouldn’t have a problem with. Rhoscolyn – 10/3 (Win).(NB)
3.30 Goodwood: Heineken Handicap: Next up for me is the 3.30 at Goodwood which is a Class 4 handicap that’s contested over six furlongs. I’m with Danger Alert here for George Baker and Pat Cosgrave. He posted his best effort for a while on his most recent outing which came at Sandown earlier this month, finishing three-quarters of a length behind Four Adaay on soft ground. He’s been nudged up three pounds for that effort but I think he remains on a mark which he should be competitive off. Danger Alert – 4/1 (Win)
3.55 Redcar: Weatherbys Digital Solutions Handicap: My third selection of the afternoon comes from Redcar and the 3.55 which is a Class 4 handicap over a mile and two furlongs. I’m with Liberty Coach here who should be hard to beta for John & Sean Quinn who’s the mount of Jason Hart. He’s won his last two starts including a four-length success on his latest outing which came at Doncaster last week. If turning up in the same kind of form he should prove tough to beat under a penalty. Liberty Coach – Evs (Win) (NAP)
4.05 Goodwood: Foundation Stakes: Moving onto the 4.05 at Goodwood and we’re up in grade here with the Listed Foundation Stakes over a mile and two furlongs. I’m taking a chance on Novus here for Gary & Josh Moore who’s the mount of Rhys Clutterbuck. The majority of her best form has come on soft ground including her most recent appearance at this track in May where she finished second in Listed company. She’s since been plying his trade in Group 2s and 3s and can capitalise on this step back down in grade on ground she should enjoy. Novus – 11/2 (Each-Way)
