Feature Meeting: Leicester

3.35: Belvoir Mares’ Handicap Chase: Kicking things off for me at Leicester on Tuesday will be the 3.35 which is a mares handicap chase over two miles and four furlongs. I like Lincoln Lyn here for Tom Gretton and David Noonan, she’s a very consistent mare and won well last time out at Wetherby when getting up by two lengths on soft going. She’s up five pounds for that success here but that might not be enough to stop her in what looks like an ordinary enough contest. Lincoln Lyn – 11/8 (Win)

4.05: Cottesmore Novices’ Handicap Chase: My second selection of the afternoon comes in the 4.05 which is another handicap chase this time contested over two miles and six and a half furlongs. I’m siding with No Tackle here for the team of Robbie Llewellyn and Liam Harrison. He comes into the race in good form having won well over course and distance last time out by over three lengths, he still looks fairly unexposed for a seven-year-old and I think he could go well again in this particular assignment. No Tackle – 5/2 (Win)

4.35: Jumping For Fun Open Hunters’ Chase: It’s the 4.35 where my third and final punt will take place, and this is a Hunters Chase over two miles and six and a half furlongs. This isn’t the kind of race I’d normally have a punt in, however, I think one stands out and that’s Percussion for Laura Morgan and James King. He’s only a nine-year-old which is relatively young for this code and has been contesting some extremely competitive handicaps this season. He’s ran extremely well, placing in both the Grand Sefton as well as the Becher, before finishing fifth in the Classic Chase. If he runs up to that kind of form here he should be very hard to beat. Percussion 5/2 (Win)
