2.35: Book Your Spring Raceday Hospitality Mares’ Handicap Hurdle: My first selection of the afternoon comes in the 2.35 which is a mares handicap hurdle over a mile and seven furlongs. I’m with Ezmerellda for Alan King and Gavin Sheehan, she won a maiden by eight lengths before finding listed company too hot to handle behind Wodhooh. She should be much more comfortable now tried within low-grade handicaps, and can make her presence felt. Ezmerellda – 13/8 (Win)
3.35: Family Raceday April 21st Free Entertainment Handicap Chase: Next up for me is the 3.35 which is a Handicap Chase over three miles and a furlong. I like Pachacuti here for the team of David Pipe and Jack Tudor. He’s been placed on three of his four starts this term, all within handicap company, and still remains on what looks like a decent enough mark. If getting a clear round he can be bang there once again. Pachacuti – 5/2 (Win)
4.05: Full Circle Series At Punchestown Festival Handicap Hurdle: Moving onto the 4.05 now which is a handicap hurdle that’s set to be ridden over two miles and five and a half furlongs. I’m taking a chance on Defi Nonantais here who’s making his handicap debut for Joe Tizzard and Harry Cobden. He’s shown a moderate level of form when contesting novice events, however, improvement will likely come now handicapping and this particular assignment appears to be populated with several exposed-looking sorts. Defi Nonantais – 7/2 (Win)
4.35: Wincanton Racing Again 7th March Handicap Chase: My fourth and final selection of the day comes in the 4.35 which is another handicap chase, this time ridden over two miles and four furlongs. I think Flash Gorcombe looks by far the most solid option here for Robert Walford and Harry Kimber who takes off three pounds. He bolted up on his penultimate outing at Wincanton by fifteen lengths and followed up by placing at Exeter back in January. This doesn’t look like a strong contest, and he should give his running once again. Flash Gorcombe – 7/4 (Win) (NAP)
