2.15 Yarmouth: British EBF Novice Stakes: My first selection on Tuesday comes in the 2.15 at Yarmouth which is a Class 4 novice event over six furlongs. This looks like a good opportunity for Almeraq for the team of William Haggas and Jim Crowley. He was three-quarters of a length second on his racecourse debut at Newbury last month with that effort also coming on soft ground. He should build on that run here and if that’s the case he should be proving tough to beat for powerful connections. Almeraq – 5/4 (Win) (NB)
2.35 Market Rasen: Book Boxing Day Hospitality Novices’ Hurdle: My second selection comes from Market Rasen and in the 2.35 which is a Class 4 novice hurdle over two miles and four and a half furlongs. This should be all about Lady Jago for Dan & Harry Skelton. She returned to the track at Warwick earlier this month when winning a maiden hurdle by three lengths and if she continues to progress she should be very tough to beat here. It would be disappointing should she not follow up as this appears to be an ideal opportunity. Lady Jago – 11/10 (Win) (NAP)
5.03 Leicester: Watch On Racing TV Handicap: Next up for me is the 5.30 at Leicester which is Class 3 handicap action that’s ridden over seven furlongs. I like the chances of Executive Decision in this particular affair for Jamie & Saffie Osbourne. I’ve put her up a couple of times lately and whilst she’s not managed to win she’s been knocking at the door in and around this mark. She looked a bit outpaced last time out over six furlongs but stayed on to finish fourth, which gave the impression that a step up in trip could well be what she’s after. Executive Decision – 7/1 (Each-Way)
6.00 Newcastle: Download The Raceday Ready App Novice Stakes: My concluding selection of the day comes from Newcastle and on the all-weather in the 6.00, which is a Class 5 novice event over seven furlongs. I’m with Qaseem here who represents the team of Karl Burke and Clifford Lee. He’s by far the most exposed of them in this but sets a solid standard having contested three handicaps as of late, winning one and reaching a mark of 82. I think you’d need one that’s possibly out of the ordinary to topple that mark on their debut here. Qaseem – 4/1 (Win)
