Welcome aboard to this Wednesday Midweek Preview where I’ve got my usual four selections to share with you all once more, this time from Leicester and Exeter. As ever, make sure to gamble responsibly if you are having a punt.
Prices correct as of 30/01 – 17:00
2.55 Leicester: EBF British Stallion Studs “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle: I’m kicking things off with the 2.55 at Leicester which is a novice hurdle over two miles and four and a half furlongs. I think that this can go to Roger Pol for Jamie Snowden and Sam Twiston-Davies. He’s already got his head in front in this sphere and lost nothing in defeat within handicap company last time out at Ascot when finishing second. He should go close again here. Roger Pol – 6/4F (Win)
3.25 Leicester racingtv.com Golden Miller Mares’ Handicap Hurdle: Next up it’s the 3.25 also from Leicester which is a mares handicap hurdle that’s also contested over two miles and four and a half furlongs. I’m siding with Walk Of No Shame here for Jonjo O’Neil and James Smith who takes off seven pounds. She’s a very consistent mare and with her rider’s claim, she looks on an attractive mark to go well again. Walk Of No Shame – 7/2 (Win)
3.45 Exeter: Kennford Maiden Hurdle: My third selection of the day comes in the 3.45 at Exeter which is a maiden hurdle over two miles and five and a half furlongs. I think that this can go to Ideal Des Bordes for Nicky Henderson and James Bowen. He’s been placed in both of the maiden hurdles he’s contested so far, both coming at Ascot with the most recent run coming when finishing second to the useful Welcom To Cartries, who placed in a Grade 2 at the weekend. That’s the best form on offer here and he should make his presence felt. Ideal Des Bordes – 11/10F (Win)
3.55 Leicester: Leicester Racecourse Ideal Conference Venue Handicap Chase: It’s back to Leicester now for my final punt of the afternoon in the 3.55 which is a handicap chase over two miles and four furlongs. I’m with Grandads Cottage here for Olly Murphy and Dylan Johnston who mitigates seven pounds. He’s not been seen to best effect so far this term but drops to a mark that’s theoretically lower than his last winning one when taking the rider’s claim into account. It would be disappointing should he not bounce back to form in this. Grandads Cottage – 7/2 (Win)
