Kempton Thursday's Bets

Wednesday’s Bets. (07/10/26)

Wednesday 7th October 2026

5.30 Kempton – (Class 3 Novice) (7f)

Hugo Palmer’s TWELVE BARS was well supported on his debut at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago and nearly repaid his backers when he finished half a length second of fourteen behind Sole Ambition, a rival who already had the benefit of two runs behind him. That form looks solid, and he should almost certainly improve coming into his second outing here. A bold showing is highly likely with Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle. Last-time-out winner Byzantine is an obvious player for George Boughey and Billy Loughnane; however, giving weight away will raise a few questions, and Lancaster Tower should have more to offer for the Gosden’s. He was disappointing at York last time out; however, he showed plenty of promise when third on debut at Sandown in July.

7.00 Kempton – (Class 6 Handicap) (7f)

It could pay to take a chance on William Knight’s SEEING STARS here, who’s the mount of Luke Morris. Her form has been patchy this term; however, as a result, she’s been steadily coming down the weights, and notably, drops into Class 6 company for the first time in her career here. Whilst she has knocked on the door a few times within handicap company, her only win to date came over course and distance in a Class 4 novice. A return to this surface, as well as a drop in grade, could see her to best effect. Oddjob is interesting on handicap debut for Ed Walker, as he’s open to significant improvement, and Royal County Glory will be popular given his back-to-back victories at Lingfield recently.

7.30 Kempton – (Class 5 Handicap) (6f)

Madman will likely be very popular at the top of the betting in this Class 5 affair for Rachael Cook & John Bridger; he’s won two of his last three starts and merits obvious respect with Billy Loughnane now in the saddle. I’ve taken a chance on KINIRO here, though, for Dan Horsford, who’s acquired the services of Oisin Murphy. He’s not the most straightforward, as he often takes a keen hold; however, he drops into Class 5 company for the first time this year, and his last success came when he last ran at this level, exactly twelve months ago at Lingfield. That run also came off the same mark as his current one, and Oisin Murphy was also on board that day. Taking all of the above into consideration, I think he could run a big race here.
