Wolverhampton

Tuesday Tips. (18/02/25)

Tuesday 18th February 2025

6.30 Wolverhampton: BetUK: Where The UK Bets Handicap: My first of three selections from Wolverhampton on Tuesday comes within the 6.30 and this is a Class 6 handicap over a mile and six furlongs. I like Sophosc here for Ian Williams and Ryan Kavanagh who takes off five pounds. He ran well over course and distance last time out, finishing third of ten and a length and a quarter behind the winner. He’s been left on the same mark here with a further five pounds coming off his back with his rider’s claim, I think he’s well-handicapped and can post a bold bid here. Sophosc – 13/2 (Each-Way)

7.30 Wolverhampton: Gamble Responsibly At BetUK Classified Stakes: Next up for me will be the 7.30 and this is more Class 6 handicap action, this time over seven furlongs. I’m with Coconut Bay here for Tristan Davidson and Millie Wonnacott who takes off five pounds. She’ll contest this off a five-pound lower mark than her last winning one, with another five set to come off via his rider’s claim. She also ran well over course and distance last time out when finishing fourth of ten and two and a quarter lengths behind the winner. If getting a smooth trip she’s got every chance of making her presence felt. Coconut Bay – 5/1 (Each-Way)

8.00 Wolverhampton: BetMGM: Its Showtime Handicap: My third and final selection of the evening comes within the 8.00 and this is another Class 6 handicap and this time ridden over a mile and half of a furlong. I’m chancing Mariner here who’s currently trading at a best price of 13/2 for Jennie Candlish and George Wood. He ran his most encouraging race for some time last time out over course and distance when third of nine and a length behind the winner. He remains on the same mark here and if he turns up in the same form he could well finally shed his maiden tag for a yard in great form. Mariner – 13/2 (Each-Way)
