2.15 Nottingham: British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes: Kicking things off for me on Wednesday will be the 2.15 at Nottingham which is a Class 5 maiden event over a mile and half of a furlong. This looks like a good opportunity for Archivist who represents Sir Michael Stoute and Hollie Doyle. He’s run well in each of his three starts to date, finishing second the last twice with his penultimate run being his best piece of form when a length and a half behind subsequent Group 3 winner Starzintheireyes. He should prove tough to beat if he runs up to that level again here. Archivist – 6/4 (Win) (NAP)
2.45 Nottingham: EBF Restricted Maiden Fillies’ Stakes: I’m staying at Nottingham for my second selection of the afternoon and this comes in the 2.45 which is a Class 5 fillies maiden over a mile and half of a furlong. I’m strong on the chances of Miss Wong in this for David Simcock and another for Hollie Doyle. She stayed on at Haydock on her racecourse debut last month to finish a length third of five, with that effort also coming on soft ground. It would be disappointing should she not build on that here and go very close. Miss Wong – 13/8 (Win) (NB)
3.20 Punchestown: BetVictor Novice Chase: My third selection of the day comes from Punchestown and in the 3.20 which is a Grade 3 novice chance that’s contested over two miles and two and a half furlongs. I like Jordans in this particular affair for Josephy O’Brien and Richie Deegan. He ran a fine race on his stable debut last month, finishing second of six at Listowel and a length and three-quarters behind the winner. He should build on that here, and he’ll need to, however, saying that, this doesn’t look like the strongest of Grade 3s. I think he’s got every chance of going well. Jordans – 9/2 (Win)
4.30 Wetherby: Watch Racing TV In HD Novices’ Handicap Chase: Signing me off for the afternoon will be the 4.30 from Wetherby which is a Class 4 novice handicap chase over two miles and five and a half furlongs. I’m with Hurlerontheditch in this fo Kim Bailey and Brian Hughes. He’s dropped back down to the same mark as when well clear at Warwick last year before falling and ran his best race for some time when last seen in May at that same track, finishing second of five. The yard is in fantastic form as of late and I think he’s got a big chance here. Hurlerontheditch – 4/1 (Win)
