Goodwood Naas

Sunday Tips. (13/10/2024)

Sunday 13th October 2024

Saturday Preview (27)

2.25 Goodwood: William Hill / British EBF Restricted Novice Stakes: Kicking things off for us on Sunday will be the 2.25 at Goodwood which is a Class 4 novice event over six furlongs. I think that this can go to Qetaifan who represents the duo of Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy. He won last time out impressively on the third time of asking, getting up by three and a quarter lengths at Chester on heavy ground last month. He should prove tough to beat if he comes on again for that run here. Quetaifan – 10/11 (Win) (NAP)

3.00 Goodwood: William Hill Offers Proper Prices Handicap: Next up for me is the 3.00 which is a Class 3 handicap that’s also contested over a distance of six furlongs. I like the chances of Wodao in this particular affair for the team of Jamie & Saffie Osbourne. He goes well on soft ground and despite not winning for a while, he’s shown glimpses of solid form, as he did last time out when finishing fourth of ten in a Class 2 handicap at Ascot. He appears to be on a good mark here and I think he can go well. Wodao – 7/2 (Win)

3.25 Naas: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Bluebell Stakes: It’s over to Naas for my third selection of the afternoon and their 3.25 which is the Listed Bluebell Stakes for fillies & mares over a mile and four furlongs. I’m strong on Caught U Looking in this for Noel Meade and Colin Keane. She hasn’t managed to win this season but has run well in all of her starts, and even finished fifth of fourteen in the Irish Oaks back in July. This represents an ease in grade for her and it would be disappointing should she not make her presence felt. Caught U Looking – 3/1 (Win) (NB)

3.35 Goodwood: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Nursery Handicap: My concluding selection of the day comes back at Goodwood and in the 3.35 which is a Class 4 nursery handicap over seven furlongs. I like Mayday Malone in this for the team of Michael Bell and Oisin Murphy. He makes his handicap debut following three efforts in maiden and novice company, and he’s progressed with each run culminating with a second-placed effort at Chester last month, which came on soft ground. He’s on better terms here with Tactical Plan who was the winner that day, and I think he’s a big player. Mayday Malone – 7/2 (Win)
