Saturday Preview (23)

2.15 Nottingham: Fireworks Tickets On Sale Now EBF Novice Stakes: My first selection of the day on Wednesday comes from Nottingham and in the 2.15 which is a Class 5 novice event over five furlongs. I think that this can go to Arctic Voyage for Ralph Beckett and Danny Tudhope. The yard have been in fantastic form as of late and I think they can have another one go close here, this particular runner was third on debut at Newbury last month on heavy going and should come on significantly for that outing. If that’s the case, he should prove a danger to all. Arctic Voyage – 3/1 (Win) (NB)

3.15 Nottingham: British EBF Future Stayers Oath Novice Stakes: My second selection comes in the 3.15 at Nottingham which is another novice event this time a Class 2 event over a mile and a half. I’m taking a chance on a newcomer here in Holborn who’s another one for Ralph Beckett and this time the mount of Rossa Ryan. He was an expensive yearling by Justify with his dam a winner on testing ground. The standard set here is far from outstanding and I think he can make a winning debut. Holborn – 11/4 (Win)

3.45 Nottingham: British Stallion Studs EBF Nursery Handicap: Next up for me is the 3.45 from Nottingham which is a Class 3 nursery handicap that’s contested over a mile and two furlongs. I’m taking a chance on Chelsea Embankment here who’s a third on the day for Ralph Beckett and once again the mount of Rossa Ryan. He’s still a maiden after six starts, however, has shown a decent level of form in decent in several of those runs and I think that this step-up in trip could also see him to best effect. Chelsea Embankment – 11/4 (Win)

3.58 Sedgefield: Paxtons No1 CaseIH Dealer In UK&Ireland Handicap Hurdle: My fourth and final pick of the day comes from Sedgefield and the 3.58 which is a Class 5 handicap hurdle over two miles and a furlong. I’m strong on Cawthorne Cracker here for Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero who’s the mount of Toby Wynne, who takes off three pounds. He was a six-length winner over course and distance last week and I expect him to put in another seriously bold showing off the same mark. Cawthorne Cracker – 6/4 (Win) (NAP)
