Feature Meetings: Sandown, Beverley

1.50 Sandown: Fireworks Spooktacular 31 October Handicap: I’m kicking things off on Wednesday with the 1.50 at Sandown which is a Class 5 handicap that’s ridden over five furlongs. I like Safari Dream here for Rod Millman and Oisin Murphy. He’s a course and distance winner who despite having not won for a while hasn’t run badly on several occasions this term. His mark has continued to tumble and he’ll contest this five pounds lower than his last success. I think he’s got every chance of going well. Safari Dream – 4/1 (Win)
3.23 Sandown: Pequod 20 Years Of Seaworthiness Fortune Stakes: We move up in grade for my next selection at Sandown for a rare midweek Listed event in the Fortune Stakes over a mile at 3.23. I’m with Beshtani here for Hamad Al Jehani and James Doyle who’s currently trading at a best price of 9/2 in the betting. He was only a length and three-quarters behind Quddwah when fifth in the Group 2 Summer Mile at Ascot back in July. That form is some of the best on offer here and he’s gone well fresh previously, he looks a solid option. Beshtani – 5/1 (Each-Way) (NB)
3.55 Sandown: Hersham Fillies’ Handicap: My third selection of the afternoon comes in the 3.55 which is a Class 4 handicap that’s contested over a mile. I think that Fleurir can go well here for the team of Roger Varian and James Doyle. She was disappointing on her seasonal reappearance at Bath back in May following a lay-off, however, was much more encouraging when second of five at Ffos Las on heavy ground last time out in August. She’s been dropped a further pound for that run and I can see her going well here if she comes on from that previous outing. Fleurir – 11/4 (Win)
4.18 Beverley: Hatfields Range Rover Evoque Handicap: I’m signing things off in the 4.18 at Beverley which is Class 4 handicap action over five furlongs. It’s Rock Of England here for me who represents Paul Midgley and David Nolan. He’s found his feet as of late after a slow start to the season and comes into the race on the back of several very solid efforts. His mark has continued to fall despite the decent form and if he comes into this in the same vein I think he can have a serious say. Rock Of England – 6/1 (Each-Way) (NAP)
