Feature Meetings: Yarmouth, Redcar

Saturday Preview (3)

3.05 Yarmouth: British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes: My first selection of the day on Tuesday comes in the 3.05 at Yarmouth which is a Class 4 novice event over six furlongs. This looks to be a good opportunity for Al Misbar who represents Charlie Appleby and James Doyle. He’s shown a decent level of form in his first two outings when finishing fourth and second most recently, and it would be disappointing should this Blue Point colt not make his presence felt in a race of this nature. Al Misbar – 2/1 (Win) (NAP)

3.13 Redcar: Start Your Racing TV Free Trial Now Handicap: I move over to Redcar for my second pick of the day and the 3.13 which is a Class 4 Handicap over six furlongs. This is competitive, however, I’ve come down on Exponista for David Loughnane and Brandon Wilkie who takes off five pounds. She’s not won since taking a maiden last year, however, hasn’t been far away in her last few outings within handicap and arrives here looking on a dangerous mark. The fast ground shouldn’t be an issue and she also has a further five pounds coming off what’s an already low mark. Exponista – 16/1 (Each-Way)

3.43: Redcar: Start Your Racing TV Free Trial Now Handicap: I’m staying at Redcar for my next pick which comes in the 3.43 and this is a Class 6 handicap over six furlongs. This is another extremely competitive low-grade affair, and I’ve taken a chance on High Velocity who’s another for the team of David Loughnane and Billy Loughnae and Brandon Wilkie who takes off the five pounds again. He’s not actually won yet on turf despite four all-weather victories, however, he ran well on his penultimate start at Nottingham when finishing third of seven on good to firm ground. His mark has continued to drop and he’s effectively seven pounds lower than that Nottingham run here with his rider’s claim. If getting some luck in the run he could well feature. High Velocity – 7/1 (Each-Way)

4.35 Yarmouth: Join Moulton Racing Syndicate Fillies’ Handicap: It’s back to Yarmouth for my fourth selection of the afternoon and the 4.35 a Class 3 fillies’ handicap over six furlongs. I’m with Princess Shabnam here who’s currently trading at a best price of 10/1 for Sean Woods and Rob Havlin. She’s not tasted success for a while, however, as a result of that she lurks on a tempting mark and posted her best effort for some time last time out when second on the all-weather at Kempton earlier this month, just three-quarters of a length behind the winner. She’s on the same mark here and is a course and distance winner, I think she can go well at a nice price. Princess Shabnam – 10/1 (Each-Way)

5.05 Yarmouth: Retro Industrial Cleaning Services Handicap: My concluding pick comes in the 5.05 at Yarmouth and this is Class 4 handicap action over five furlongs. I like Stone Circle here for the team of Michael Bell and Hector Crouch. He’s a course and distance specialist having won three times over track and trip and looks on a good mark to go close again here, he was a half of a length second on nine last time out at Leicester, and if turning up in the same form he can make his presence felt off the same mark. Stone Circle – 5/1 (Each-Way) (NB)
