2.08 Thirsk: Vickers.Bet Restricted Maiden Stakes: The Friday Preview gets underway in the 2:08 at Thirsk which is maiden company over a mile. This looks like a good opportunity for Ebt’s Guard to get his head in front for William Muir and Chris Grassick. He’s the mount of Jason Hart here and comes into the race having placed in a couple of handicaps on his two outings so far this term, running to a level of 82. He drops back down to maiden company here and if running to the same level of those handicap runs he should prove very tough to beat. Ebt’s Guard – 8/11 (Win) (NAP)
3.00 Brighton: Download The AK Bets App Classified Stakes: My second selection of the day comes from Brighton and in the 3.00 which is a Classified event over a mile. I like Kondratiev Wave here for the team of Tony Carroll and Neil Callan. He’s a course specialist and enhanced that title further earlier this week when adding another course and distance success to his name. He’ll escape a rise in the weights here and if turning up in the same kind of form as that last outing he’s got a very solid chance of being bang there again. Kondratiev Wave – 6/4 (Win) (NB)
3.38 Thirsk: Follow @vickersracing On X Handicap: It’s back to Thirsk for selection number three and the 3.38 which is a Class 5 handicap over six furlongs. I’m with Ticktyboo here for Nigel Tinkler and Rowan Scott. He’s run well on both starts this season, particularly on his most recent outing at Redcar last month where he finished a neck second of six. He’ll contest this off the same mark as that effort, and if he runs up to that level again, he must be considered a player. He’s a seven-race maiden but contested some very hot races last term and this looks more like his level. Ticktyboo – 15/2 (Each-Way) (4 places)
4.40 Thirsk: Vickers.Bet Independent Family-Owned Bookmaker Handicap: My fourth and final pick of the day comes in the 4.40 at Thirsk which is a Class 6 handicap that’s ridden over a distance of six furlongs. I’m taking a chance on Seven Brothers here for the team of Scott Dixon and Phill Dennis. He ran his best race for a while last time out at Windsor back in April and will contest this off the same mark as that day. He’s now considerably lower than his last winning mark, which came off a mark of 84 back in March of 2022. He’s not up to that sort of level now, however, he should retain enough ability to go close in a race of this nature. Seven Brothers – 11/2 (Each-Way) (5 places)
