3.05 Haydock: Betfred Nifty 50 Handicap: My first pick of the day on Thursday comes in the 3.05 at Haydock which is a Class 4 handicap over six furlongs. I like Cool Dividend here for Clive Cox and Ricard Kingscote here. He’s still a maiden but has finished second on three separate occasions now and was second on his handicap debut and seasonal reappearance at Doncaster last month. If he builds on that run here he’s got to be considered as a big player. Cool Dividend – 4/1 (Win)

3.35 Haydock: Betfred Supports Jack Berry House Handicap: I’m staying at Haydock for my second selection of the afternoon an this comes in the 3.35 which is also a Class 4 handicap this time over five furlongs. I’m with Grace Angel here for the team of Daryll Holland and Jason Watson. She put a string of underwhelming efforts behind her on her latest outing when finishing half a length second of eleven at Windsor last month. If she turns up in the same kind of form she can go well here off a mark that’s six pounds lower than her last winning one. Grace Angel – 11/2 (Win) (Each-Way)

3.55 Hamilton: Weatherbys Global Stallions Handicap: My third selection of the afternoon comes from Hamilton and their 3.55 which is more handicap action this time over a mile and a furlong. I’m siding with Bur Dubai here for Kevin Philippart De Foy and Jason Hart. He’s another who’s still a maiden but posted a very encouraging effort on his handicap debut at Kempton last month after being outclassed in Listed company at Epsom in April. He should progress from that Kempton run and put in a bold bid here. Bur Dubai – 11/4 (Win) (NB)

4.05 Haydock: Betfred Double Delight Maiden Fillies’ Stakes: It’s back over to Haydock for selection number four and this is a fillies maiden that’s ridden over a mile and two furlongs. I like that Queen Of Soldiers should be tough to beat here for Roger Varian and James Doyle. She was a fine head second at Ascot on her racecourse debut back in May and should she come on for that effort here she should be bang there. Her yard have been in solid form over recent weeks and being by Sea The Stars she should be at home over this sort of distance. Queen Of Soldiers – 13/8 (Win) (NAP)

4.30 Hamilton: Sodexo Live Handicap: Signing me off for the day will be the 4.30 at Hamilton which is a Class 5 handicap over a mile and a furlong. I’m taking a chance on Hortzadar here for the team of David O’Meara and Danny Tudhope. He’s not been seen to best effect for a while, however, he’s dropped back down to his last winning mark and that success also came when he was dropped into Class 5 company. If he puts his best foot forward he has more than enough ability to be winning a race of this nature. Hortzadar – 5/1 (Each-Way)
