This is a competitive Class 4 affair, with a mixture of young improvers and slightly more battle-hardened older types. It’s a three-year-old that I like here, and that’s David O’Meara’s Matter Of Britain, who’s the mount of Danny Tudhope. He opened his account on his third attempt, when winning a novice event impressively over course and distance last time out by three lengths. He’s open to significant improvement on his handicap debut here for a top yard, and he shouldn’t mind the likely soft ground given that he’s by Victor Ludorum. If he continues to improve, he can go close in this.
