3.40: Cure Leukaemia EBF Novice Stakes: We kick things off on this installation of the Sunday Series at Hamilton with the 3.40 which is a novice event over six furlongs. This looks to be all about Dolce Vitta for the team of George Boughey and Billy Loughlane. She made a very big impression on her second start when bolting up at Redcar by five lengths last month and if she turns up in the same kind of form she should prove tough to beat. She also gets weight off the rest of the field with the fillies allowance. Dolce Vitta – 9/4 (Win) (NAP)
4.40: Sky Bet Club Handicap: My second selection of the afternoon comes in the 4.40 which is a Class 3 handicap that’s contested over a mile and five furlongs. I’ve sided with Capital Theory here for Charlie Johnston and Joe Fanning. He won over course and distance on his penultimate start before finishing a solid second here on his most recent outing last month. He cleary has a liking for this track and he’s got every chance of going well again off the same mark as that recent effort. Capital Theory – 15/2 (Each-Way)
5.40: Sky Bet Request A Bet Fillies’ Handicap: Next up for me is the 5.40, a fillies’ handicap over a mile and a furlong. I like the chances of Cloudy Skye here for Richard Fahey and Cam Hardie. She posted an encouraging effort on her handicap debut at Newcastle last month when finishing fourth of seven and a length behind the winner, and if building on that run she should have every chance. She faded that day in the closing stages so this drop down in trip should also be a benefit to her. Cloudy Skye – 7/2 (Win)
6.10: Sky Bet Extra Places Every Day Handicap: My fourth and final selection of the day comes up in the 6.10 which is a Class 4 handicap over six furlongs. I’m with Ziggy’s Queen here who’s another for Richard Fahey and this time the mount of Oisin Orr. She posted a solid effort on her seasonal reappearance when sixth of seventeen in a competitive York handicap last month and this is an ease in grade for her. She’s also a pound lower than her last winning mark and should be posting a bold bid in this. Ziggy’s Queen – 3/1 (Win) (NB)
