Welcome aboard to this Monday Midweek Preview where I’ve got a few selections to share with you all from Catterick. As ever, make sure to gamble responsibly if you are having a punt.

2.00: racingtv.com Handicap Hurdle: The 2.00 is where I kick things off which is a handicap hurdle over two miles and three and a half furlongs. I think that this can go to Rocky Man for Dan & Harry Skelton. He’s not shown anything on two starts this term, however, he’s now dropped down to a mark which is just two pounds higher than his last winning one. It would be disappointing should he not be competitive in what is an ease in grade for him. Rocky Man – 11/4F (Win)

2.30: BBC Make A Difference Awards Maiden Hurdle: Next up is the 2.30 which is a maiden hurdle over three miles and one and a half furlongs. This looks to be all about Tap N Go Leo who currently heads the betting for Jonjo O’Neil and Jonjo Jr. He’s a bumper winner who made an encouraging start to life over hurdles when third to the potentially smart Diamond Ri in what was probably a decent race at Warwick last time out. If he builds on that run he’ll be tough to beat. Tap N Go Leo – 8/11F (Win)

3.30: Best Odds Guaranteed At Vickers.Bet Handicap Hurdle: I’m moving onto the 3.30 now which is a handicap hurdle over a mile and seven and a half furlongs. I’m taking a chance on one at a massive price here and that’s Very Excellent who’s currently a 25/1 chance for Mike Sowersby and Aaron Anderson who takes off five pounds. He’s actually a fair useful dual-purpose horse and has placed in two of his last three starts over obstacles, most recently when finishing half a length second here last month. He’s up just a pound for that run and on the back of that effort, I think he’s way overpriced. Very Excellent – 25/1 (Each-Way)

4.00: Racing TV Profits Returned To Racing Handicap Chase: My final punt of the day comes in the 4.00 which is a handicap chase over three miles and a furlong. Four go to post here and I’m with Minella Trump for Donald McCain and Theo Gillard. His recent form doesn’t make for good reading to say the least, however, he’s now ten pounds lower than his last winning mark, and this looks a far easier assignment than what he’s been contesting lately. If he’s still got some enthusiasm for the game, he should be going well in this. Minella Trump – 5/2 (Win)
