Welcome aboard to this week’s Sunday Preview where I’ve got several selections throughout the afternoon at Exeter. Make sure to gamble responsibly if you are punting.
2.35: Trustatrader Apply Today British Studs EBF “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle: My first pick of the afternoon comes in the 2.35 which is a novice hurdle over two miles and two and a half furlongs. I’m with Josh The Boss here for Nigel Twiston-Davies and Jamie Neild. He was running a solid race last time within Grade 2 company before he unseated, and if he brings that form into this race with a clear round he can make his presence felt. Josh The Boss – 5/2 (Win)
3.05: Trustatrader Fully Vetted Tradespeople Novices’ Hurdle: Moving onto the 3.05 which is a listed novice hurdle over two miles and half of a furlong. This can go to Fun Fun Fun who’s an Irish raider for the dominant team of Willie Mullins and Daryl Jacob. She was a Grade 2 bumper winner and was impressive on hurdling debut, before getting beaten at short odds last time at Thurles in listed company when second. I think she’s progressive and should take some beating here getting weight off the field. Fun Fun Fun – 15/8F (Win)
3.35: Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle: My third selection of the afternoon comes in the 3.35 which is a Pertemps handicap hurdle over two miles and seven furlongs. I think that Gowel Road can go well here for Sam & Nigel Twiston-Davies. He’s generally a consistent performer in competitive handicaps, and once more ran a solid race last time at Lingfield when third of ten behind the improving Nurse Susan. He’ll contest this off the same mark and has every chance of being involved once again. Gowel Road – 6/1 (Each-Way)
4.05: Trustatrader You Can Trust Our Traders Mares’ Chase: Next up it’s more listed action with a listed mares chase that’s ridden over three miles. This looks to be all about Galia Des Liteaux for me who represents the team of Dan & Harry Skelton. She’s an extremely likeable mare who often gives a very good account of herself, which was once again evident on her most recent outing at Warwick last month where she ran a cracker to finish second in the Classic Chase. A repeat of that level of form should be enough here for her to go close and confirm placings with Malina Girl. Galia Des Liteaux – 5/4F (Win) (NAP)
4.35: trustatrader.com Veterans’ Handicap Chase: My fifth and final punt of the day comes in the 4.35 which is a Veteran’s event over three miles. I’m siding with Ramses De Teille here who’s currently an 11/2 chance of David Pipe and Jack Tudor. He ran a solid race on his return to the track last time at Warwick when fourth of nineteen, and has been dropped a couple of pounds for his troubles there leaving him on his last winning mark. If he comes on from that seasonal reappearance he should be playing a meaningful part at the business end of things. Ramses De Teille – 11/2F (Each-Way)
