Ffos Las Wincanton

Midweek Preview. (01/02/2024)

Thursday 1st February 2024

Author: Jordan Yates (EvRacing_)

Welcome aboard to Thursday’s Midweek Preview and the first blog of February, I’ve got the four selections to share with you all again, this time from Ffos Las and Wincanton. Also, I’m bringing back the NAP of the day! As ever, make sure to gamble responsibly if you are having a punt.

Prices correct as of 31/01 – 17:45

2.30 Ffos Las: Golwg Gwendraeth, This Way To Wonderful Handicap Hurdle: My opening punt of the afternoon comes in the 2.30 at Ffos Las which is a handicap hurdle over three miles. I’m taking a chance on Slip Road here for Peter Bowen and Gavin Sheehan. He posted a much-improved effort last time out when second at Hereford, and a return to a heavy surface could see him to best effect given he’s won on heavy going previously. Slip Road – 6/1 (Each-Way)

3.00 Ffos Las: Follow Vickers.Bet On Facebook Novices’ Handicap Chase: Next up it’s the 3.00 from Ffos Las which is a handicap chase, also over three miles. This looks like a good opportunity for the unexposed Pimlico Point for the team of Kerry Lee and Richard Patrick. He posted a solid effort on chase debut at Exeter back in November when a length behind the useful Wiseguy, and could find more improvement on testing ground, having won a point on soft. Pimilco Point – 5/2F (Win)

3.30 Ffos Las: Discover Golwg Gwendraeth At http://www.dandara.com Mares’ Novices’ Handicap Chase: We stay at Ffos Las for my third selection, and this is my NAP of the day. This comes in the 3.30 which is a mares novice handicap chase over two miles and three and a half furlongs, and my pick here is Cast’s Tasha for Ben Clarke and Tom Bellamy. She’s been knocking at the door in handicap hurdles lately and could be too good in her first start over fences against a bunch of rivals who leave a bit to be desired with their form. She should put in a bold bid. Cast’s Tasha – EvsF (Win) (NAP)

3.45 Wincanton: Weatherbys Cheltenham Festival Betting Guide Handicap Chase: It’s over to Wincanton for my fourth and final punt of the day, and this comes in the 3.45 which is a handicap chase over three miles and a furlong. I’m siding with Jacamar here for Anthony Charlton and Bradley who takes off three pounds. He arrives here on a losing sequence, however, as a result finds himself handsomely handicapped on his best form, with his rider taking off a further three pounds. He was also only beaten a neck last time out at Plumpton which came last week, and I think he can go close again. Jacamar – 5/1 (Win)
