Our first selection of the day on Wednesday comes within the 1.30 at Hereford, and this is a Class 4 juvenile maiden hurdle for fillies over two miles. Dan Skelton’s WHITLETTS should go well here, who’s set to be ridden by Tristan Durrell. She’s finished in the frame in both of her starts under rules to date, and was likely behind a decent type in Stroke Play at Ludlow last time, where she finished ten lengths second. She should continue her progression, and has every chance of opening her account here. Doncaster bumper winner The Procrastinator is the likely main danger for Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Insole.
Next up, we head over to Dundalk for the 2.38, and this is handicap action over two miles. It’s hard to see part TATATEO in this particular affair for Denis Hogan, who’s the mount of Joey Sheridan. He was an easy winner over course and distance when cruising home by three lengths, and is turned out quickly here under the penalty. He won over hurdles before that, and is clearly enjoying his racing. If he’s in the same form as he has been, he should be tough to beat. Gallo Dell Cielo also won over course and distance, and could prove to be the main danger to the selection.
Selection number three on the day comes from Wetherby, and the 3.51, which is a Class 3 handicap hurdle over two miles and three and a half furlongs. Olly Murphy could hold the key here with WOODLAND PARK, who’s the mount of the champion jockey Sean Bowen. He’s been knocking on the door in all three of his starts within handicap company to date, placing in each of them, including when half of a length second of ten at Uttoxeter last time out. He’s up a couple of pounds following that run, but he should be on the premises again. Tormund Griantsbane will likely be the main danger; he’s unexposed and could well be ahead of his opening mark on handicap debut here for the Skeltons.
Our fourth and final selection comes from Southwell and the 4.44, a Class 5 handicap on the all-weather over six furlongs. This could well go to the Ollie Sangster-trained MARRA DONNA, who’s the mount of the other Sean Bowen. He was heavily-supported on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton on Friday, and whilst he didn’t reward his backers, he still ran very encouragingly to finish half of a length third of eleven. He remains on the same mark here and can gain compensation this time around. King Of Chaos won a maiden over seven furlongs at Lingfield on Saturday by two and three-quarters of a length; he has to be considered as the main danger under the penalty.
