NB: PADDY O’MAHLER – (2.39)

2.09 Wetherby: ONEWAYWEST should prove difficult to beat here for Ben Pauling; he was a twelve-length winner last week at Warwick, and escapes a penalty here following that impressive success. Ten-pound claimer Elliott England renews the partnership, and a very bold bid is likely. (NAP) (5/4) (Win)

2.33 Southwell: PREFER THE SISTER has been knocking on the door as of late, with a couple of close-up thirds in her latest two outings. She remains on the same mark as those efforts here, and can go well again under talented five-pound claimer Jack Callan. (5/1) (Each-Way)

2.39 Wetherby: PADDY O’MAHLER posted a highly encouraing effort on his chase debut at Market Rasen earlier this month, finishing three-quarters of a length second of four, over today’s distance. He’s only a couple of pounds higher here and should put the experience gained that day to good use here. (NB) (9/4) (Win)

3.30 Newcastle: SHIMMERING SANDS hasn’t managed to get his head in front for a long time now; however, as a result, he’s slid down the weights to a mark which is considerably lower than his last winning one. He’s also been running with credit as of late, and drops into Class 6 company here for the first time in a while. He should be running well at this level and off this mark. (5/2) (Win)

7.00 Newcastle: CATHERINE CHROI posted her best effort for a while last time out over course and distance, when finishing third of fourteen. She’s been lowered a further pound for that effort, and continues to look attractively handicapped now under the care of Iain Jardine. She’s got every chance here off these terms. (4/1) (Win)
