NAP: GUNSIGHT RIDGE – (1.45)
NB: HEADS UP – (3.30)

1.10: KAP VERT can build on an encouraging seasonal reappearance at Fontwell last month, when finishing second of seven and a length and a quarter behind the winner. He’s up two pounds; however, Freddie Keighley takes off three via his claim. (7/1) (Each-Way)

1.45: GUNSIGHT RIDGE is lightly raced for his age; however, his most recent form is up there with his best. He finished a fine fourth in the Red Rum at Aintree on his final start of last term, following on from a victory at Sandown within Class 2 company. He should prove to be a big player in this company. (3/1) (Win) (NAP)

2.20: LEAVE OF ABSENCE won well over course and distance on his seasonal reappearance at the October Meeting, staying on strongly to get the better of Pied Piper by two and a half lengths. He’s perhaps the standard setter here based on that run, and should give another good account of himself for Anthony Honeyball and Rex Dingle. (3/1) (Win)

2.55: JONBON is very hard to take on here, in his bid to win this race for the third year in a row. He was firmly put in his place by Il Etait Temps when he was last seen; however, on his penultimate start, he did still win the Grade 1 Melling Chase at Aintree by three and a quarter of a length. That form should be good enough to take this. (Evs) (Win)

3.30: HEADS UP has the potential to be very useful for John McConnell. He was second behind the exciting Bambino Fever in the Champion Bumper here at last year’s festival and opened his account at the first time of asking on seasonal reappearance last month, winning by two lengths. He’s a major player in this particular affair. (9/4) (Win) (NB)

4.00: FORTUNE DE MER got things together last time out when winning a Grade 2 novice hurdle over course and distance at the October Meeting, getting up close home. He makes his handicap debut here and should be a big threat to all within this sphere for the Skelton team. He likes it around here and should post a bold bid. (5/1) (Each-Way)
