1.15: GAELIC PRIDE is a point winner as well as a bumper winner, and posted an encouraing effort on his hurdling debut at Fontwell last month, when finishing second of twelve. He should almost certainly improve coming into his second start here, which makes him a player. (11/2) (Each-Way)

1.45: JORDANS CROSS opened his account at the first time of asking at Aintree last month, in what was his first start of the campaign, winning by two and a half lengths in a Class 3 novice chase. He’s very lightly-raced, and there could well be plenty of improvement still to come from Anthony Honeyball’s five-year-old. (9/4) (Win) (NAP)

2.20: TRIPLE TRADE won this race two years ago, and whilst he wasn’t seen to best effect last season, he did end the campaign with a couple of runs at Kempton and Sandown that weren’t devoid of hope, finishing second and fourth respectively. Notably, he’s become very well treated, and will contest this off a mark which is considerably lower than his last winning one. (11/2) (Each-Way) (NB)

2.55: BEAUPORT is a seasoned performer over these kinds of distances and within competitive handicaps at a high level. He wasn’t disgraced in the Grand National last time out, and most notably, he performs well fresh, having won by thirty-one lengths on seasonal reappearance at Ascot last term. The Twiston-Davies team is in form, and he looks like a solid player. (4/1) (Win)

3.30: IBERICO LORD lost his way in the second half of last season, which was probably the result of a heavy fall at Ascot last December when trying fences. Before that, he was very smart on his day, having won this race back in 2023, as well as the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury in 2024, getting the better of L’Eau du Sud in the process. He’s risky, however, a summer break could have rejuvenated him, and he’s a decent price. The Henderson yard has excelled in these types of races over many years. (9/1) (Each-Way)

4.00: CHICKER comes into this contest boasting a perfect record of two victories from two starts, and the form of each of those wins looks to be solid. Most recently, he defied a penalty to win over course and distance at the October Meeting, and whilst he has a warm-favourite in Gavin Cromwell’s Bud Fox to get the better of here, he has race fitness on his side, and I’d be willing to take that jolly on, given the form of that particular yard. (7/1) (Each-Way)
