1.50 Exeter: ICL Conscious Of Our Impact ‘Future Stars’ Silver Bowl Novices’ Chase

DOYEN QUEST was two lengths ahead before making a mistake at the last in a Listed event at Chepstow last month, and that was his third start over fences. He faces a stiff task here against the likely short-price favourite in Quebecois; however, the selection has race fitness as well as more experience over the larger obstacles. He’s a smart horse in his own right, and I think that with a sharper round of jumping here, he can have a big say.

DOYEN QUEST – 3/1 (Win)

2.55 Exeter: BetMGM Haldon Gold Cup Handicap Chase

KALIF DU BERLAIS has to give weight away here; however, that’s a result of being the highest-rated in the race. He could have a bit of star quality about him for Paul Nicholls, and was one of the top novice chasers around last term. His season culminated with Grade 1 success at Aintree, and he could stamp his authority on a race which his yard knows how to win.

KALIF DU BERLAIS – 7/4 (Win)

5.00 Newcastle: Midnite: Built For 2025 Not 2005 Handicap

BRAZILIAN ROSE won three times over course and distance back in January, and is back down to his last winning mark here. She posted an encouraing effort at Southwell on Monday when finishing sixth, and has clearly come out of that race well to be turned out again quickly here. Things look set up for her to go well again here for Rebecca Menzies, at a course that she clearly enjoys.

BRAZILIAN ROSE – 9/2 (Each-Way)

5.30 Newcastle: Win £250,000 With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap

BETTY BASSETT comes into the race three pounds well-in following her neck second over course and distance last week, remaining on the same mark, which is just two pounds higher than her last winning one. She has to be considered a big player if she turns up in the same form again here, and she now has the services of the talented Billy Loughnane doing the steering.

BETTY BASSETT – 5/1 (Each-Way)
