1.45 Southwell: BetUK. Home Of The Acca-Fenwa Handicap: The first pick of the day for me on Thursday will be in the 1.45 at Southwell, a Class 5 handicap over a mile and three furlongs on the all-weather. I’m with Charlie’s Choice here for the combination of David Simcock and Kieran Shoemark. He’s been knocking on the door lately, placing in his last three outings including here last week when a nose second of ten. He’s two pounds well in here following that run and should give another good account of himself. Charlie’s Choice – 5/2 (Win)
2.30 Exeter: Southwest Rail Solutions Handicap Hurdle: My second selection comes over the jumps at Exeter and in the 2.30 which is a Class 3 handicap hurdle over two miles and two and a half furlongs. I like Issam here for Tom Symonds and Daryl Jacob. I put him up on his most recent outing which came at Newbury a couple of weeks ago in a competitive handicap where he finished sixth of ten. That was a slightly disappointing effort, however, these are slightly calmer waters for him and the drop back down in trip could see him to best effect given he won this race last year. It would be disappointing should he not post a much better effort here. Issam – 2/1 (Win)
