1.30: Charlotte Corday – 10/3 (Win)
Showed significant improvement last time out at Leicester on her second start, finishing three-quarters of a length third of eight on good to soft ground. Should naturally progress again, coming into her third start here, and that makes her a big player.
2.00: Startled – 6/1 (Each-Way)
He’s been knocking on the door as of late and hasn’t been far away in his last two starts within handicap company. He’ll have to convert that form to the turf here; however, he represents a top team and shouldn’t be far away off this mark.
2.30: Bay Breeze – 15/2 (Each-Way)
Course and distance winner who posted his best effort for a while last time out at Hamilton, finishing a neck second of seven on soft ground at Hamilton. Has every chance of going well again here off the same mark.
3.00: Action Pact – 9/2 (Each-Way) (NAP)
Decisive victory last time out at Pontefract, when winning easily over today’s distance by two and a quarter of a length. Should make a bold bid to follow up here, off just three pounds higher. Joanna Mason was on board that day, and she renews the partnership again here.
3.30: Mapledurham – 12/1 (Each-Way)
Twelve-race maiden, however, has shown signs that the elusive victory could be around the corner. She’s placed in two of her last three starts, including last time out at Kempton when third of eleven off the same mark as today’s. She also finished a head second at Bath three starts ago, with that run coming on heavy ground. Has a chance on the form of those runs.
4.00: Karthala – 7/1 (Each-Way)
Posted his best effort today when upped in distance at Yarmouth last time out, keeping on from a slow start to finish a length and a quarter second of eight. Goes up in distance again here, and if he handles the ground, he can have a big say off just a pound higher mark.
4.32: Ethelwulf – 5/2 (Win)
Showed significant improvement on handicap debut at Yarmouth last time out, finishing second of seven on good to soft ground. Unexposed, and there should be more to come up over a distance and on ground that he shouldn’t have an issue with, being by Cracksman.
5.05: Velvet Whisper – 4/1 (Win) (Treble)
Seven-race maiden who posted her best effort to date last time out at Redcar, finishing a neck second of eleven on her first attempt at today’s distance. There should be more to come here off just a pound higher mark, and she looks like a big player.
