Cheltenham & Doncaster

1.15 Cheltenham: William Hill Each Way Extra Handicap Hurdle
JAZZY MATTY – 17/2 (Each-Way) (5 places)
Runs off a four-pound lower hurdle mark than when winning the Grand Annual at The Festival here in March over fences. Should be fitter than most as well here, having run in the Galway Plate over the summer, and is a classy sort. Has every chance of going well.
1.33 Doncaster: William Hill Each Way Extra Handicap
STRIKE RED – 12/1 (Each-Way) (4 places)
A regular attendee among competitive big-field handicaps, and whilst he hasn’t been able to get his head in front for twelve months now, he often gives his running. He’ll contest this off two pounds lower than his last winning mark, and could go well again at a likely nice price.
1.50 Cheltenham: Holland Cooper ‘Chasing Excellence’ Novices’ Chase
KING OF KINGSFIELD – 9/4 (Win)
Comes into the race with fitness on his side, having had a productive summer campaign, winning three times over fences, which includes a Grade 3 success last time out. His record at Cheltenham is a slight concern, but these are calmer waters than his previous assignments here, and he’s the class horse in the race.
2.08 Doncaster: British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes
GOLDEN STORY – 11/4 (Win)
The Burke yard is currently in fine form, and they often do well with their two-year-olds. This particular colt is bred to appreciate this sort of distance and has every chance of making a big impact on his first outing for this team.

2.25 Cheltenham: Foundation Developments Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle:
CAVERN CLUB – 8/1 (Each-Way) (4 places)
Successful on both the flat and hurdles over the summer, winning at Chester and Market Rasen, with the latter being a competitive Class 2 handicap. Ran well again at that track last time out in September, finishing a length and a half fourth of twelve. He’s a player again here off the same mark.
3.00 Cheltenham: Oddschecker Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 2)
UN SENS A LA VIE – 2/1 (Win) (NAP)
Exciting-looking prospect from the pointing sphere, who was a decisive winner on his hurdling debut at Market Rasen earlier this month, winning by seven and a half lengths. Has every chance of being up to this sort of grade, and can post a bold bid here for top connections.
3.18 Doncaster: William Hill Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap
GREY’S MONUMENT – 6/1 (Each-Way) (Treble) (4 places – bet365, Sky Bet)
Eight pounds below his last winning mark here, with a further five pounds coming off his back via talented claimer Jack Dace. Posted a solid effort in Listed company at Redcar last time out when fourth, and should be competitive at a minimum off today’s mark. He also enjoys soft ground.
3.35 Cheltenham: squareintheair.com Handicap Chase
CALICO – 11/4 (Win) (NB)
Won this race last year off a four-pound higher mark, and signed off his season last term with a second-placed effort in the ultra-competitive Grade 3 Red Rum handicap at Aintree. That’s very solid form, and he should be ready to go here for the Skelton team. Another big showing in this contest would be no surprise.
