MONDAY SELECTIONS
2.45 Catterick: DEMETRIUS – 2/1 (Win) (NAP)
Showed significant improvement on his handicap debut at Kempton earlier this month, finishing half of a length second of eight, when keeping on in the closing stages. He’s up three pounds for that run, but should continue to progress, and he has to be considered as a serious player in this for Sir Mark Prescott and Luke Morris.

3.15 Catterick: FLOWSTATE – 9/2 (Each-Way)
Hasn’t won since his maiden success on debut; however, he’s posted several solid efforts among handicap company since, in particular, when a length fourth at Thirsk last time out, earlier this month. He remains on the same mark as that Thirsk outing, and he should be bang there once more off this tumbling mark.

4.15 Catterick: BIRKENHEAD – 6/1 (Each-Way)
Won this race last year off a pound higher mark, and has been running consistently as of late. He was only two and a quarter lengths behind the winner when fifth of nineteen at York last time out, and that was a competitive Class 4 event. He drops in grade here, and he could be primed for another big run in this contest.

7.15 Ayr: MYTHICAL PHOENIX – 5/1 (Each-Way)
Hasn’t won since he was trained in Ireland; however, he has a string of placed efforts to his name within handicaps since plying his trade on these shores. Steps back down in grade here, having struggled in Class 3 company last time, and if he bounces back to form, he should be a big player off his current mark.
