Tuesday’s Best Bets
2.30: Musselburgh
MADE ALL – 7/4 (Win) (NB)
It’s low-grade stuff on Tuesday, and this Class 6 handicap at Musselburgh can go to Made All, who represents the team of Sam England and Oisin Orr. He’s generally been consistent this term, with a win to his name at Catterick and two second-placed efforts in his last two starts. Most recently, he finished a nose second of twelve at Newcastle on the all-weather, and he should be bang on the premises again here off the same mark, back up to the distance of his Catterick success.
4.00: Musselburgh
DETECTIVE – 8/1 (Each-Way)
This is another Class 6 affair, this time over a mile and a furlong, and it could pay to side with Detective here for Dianne Sayer and P J McDonald. His better days are almost certainly behind him; however, he drops into Class 6 company here for the first time in a significant amount of time, and he’s now six pounds below his last winning mark. He also ran well here when third of twelve in April, and that effort came off a seven-pound higher mark, with that run also coming under today’s rider P J McDonald, who rides him for the first time since that particular outing. The Sayer yard has also been in fine form so far this term.
4.10 Brighton:
WARM GLOW – 7/4 (Win) (NAP)
We follow the theme of Class 6 company here, this time at Brighton, and over a mile. Warm Glow makes a significant amount of appeal here for James Fanshawe and Fred Daly, who takes off seven pounds. She’s shown significant improvement since dropping into Class 6 company, placing in her last two starts, including at this course over seven furlongs in her penultimate start. She remains on the same mark as both of those efforts, and her time is surely forthcoming. A bold showing should be on the cards.
5.15 Brighton:
PLAY ME – 11/2 (Each-Way)
My fourth and final selection comes within the 5.15 at Brighton, and Play Me looks a player here for Jim Boyle and Donagh Murphy, who takes off a handy seven pounds. He posted his best effort to date last time out at Salisbury, when finishing third of ten a couple of weeks ago, and he remains on the same mark here. He’s also eased in grade to Class 6 company for the first time, and he’ll effectively contest this off a sixteen-pound lower mark than when favourite for a Class 5 handicap at Nottingham on his seasonal reappearance.
