3.15 Wolverhampton: Highbet Weekly Racing Rewards Club Restricted Novice Stakes: The first of my three selections on Tuesday comes from Wolverhampton and in the 3.15, which is a Class 5 novice event that’s contested over six furlongs. I think that this can go the way of Pelegrine Falcon, who represents Patrick Morris and is the mount of Billy Loughnane. She posted a fine effort on her stable debut at this track over five furlongs in April, finishing a nose second of nine, and whilst she didn’t follow up in her second run when finishing fourth, that was a novice event with some potentially nice types involved. These look calmer waters, and the step back up to six furlongs shouldn’t hold any issues with how she kept on over five on her penultimate outing. The jockey booking is another big plus, as there aren’t many better riders on the all-weather at the moment than Billy. Mythical Isle and Azure Zain look like the main dangers here. Both have shown a moderate level of form in their two starts to date, and both are open to further improvement, as well as having previous course experience.
Pelegrine Falcon – 13/8 (1pt Win)

3.30 Salisbury: Danny McNab Bookmakers Novice Stakes: My second selection of the day comes from Salisbury and in the 3.30, which is a Class 4 novice event that’s contested over seven furlongs. I’m with Competizione here for John & Thady Gosden, who’s set to be ridden by Oisin Murphy. He’s a Too Darn Hot colt who’s progressed from his racecourse debut at Newmarket when finishing seventh of eleven, to finish second in both of his last two starts. It was his penultimate outing where he posted his best effort to date, finishing a half-length second to a very short favourite in Nakeeb at Doncaster, and a repeat of that level of form could be enough for him to win this. He should continue his progression here, and it would be disappointing should he fail to get his head in front sooner rather than later, and the jockey booking of Murphy is a huge plus in his favour. Dr Strangelove is a previous winner and was only narrowly denied under a penalty when trying to follow up in his second start, and he holds obvious big claims here. Another considerable threat is Revelance, who showed significant progression to finishing three-quarters of a length second on her second start at Kempton last time out, and looks another potentially progressive filly for her connections.
Competizione – 11/8 (1pt Win)

6.40 Catterick: Join Racing TV Now Handicap: I head to Catterick for my third and final selection and the 6.40, which is a Class 6 handicap that’s contested over six furlongs. I’m quite strong on the chances of Novamay here for the team of Michael Dods and Paul Mulrennan. She’s shown a much better level of form this term since returning from her winter break, finishing second in both of her starts so far this term within handicap company, with her most recent outing being her best yet when she went down by just three-quarters of a length at Wetherby last week. She remains on the same mark here, and if she’s in the same form, she looks the one to beat here back up to six furlongs, which her breeding suggests should be more her optimum. Lima Sierra looks the main danger here for me, she’s generally reliable within this sort of grade and ran well at Ripon last time out when finishing a length second of ten. Another to note would be Unthinkable, who showed improved form last time out at Catterick when finishing second over seven furlongs.
Novamay – 5/6 (1pt Win)
