2.15 Redcar: racingtv.com EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes: The first of my selections on Monday comes within the 2.15 at Redcar and this is a Class 5 maiden event that’s ridden over six furlongs. I’m strong on the chances of Calafiori here for the team of George Boughey and Billy Loughnane. He progressed from a disappointing racecourse debut to finishing second of thirteen at the same track, he stayed on that day over five, giving the impression that the step up to six here should suit, and he can progress again here and should be going very close. Calafiori – 6/4 (Win) (NAP)
2.45 Redcar: Join Racing TV Now Handicap: I’m staying at Redcar for my second selection of the afternoon, and the 2.45, which is a Class 6 handicap that’s contested over five furlongs. I like Early Release here for David Evans, who’s another one with Billy Loughnane in the saddle. He went close at Windsor earlier this month, finishing a neck second of ten, and that effort came within Class 5 company. He’ll contest this affair off a pound higher mark, and the jockey booking is eye-catching. He should go well again in a race that should be run to suit. Early Release – 9/4 (Win)
3.30 Carlisle: PricedUp Handicap: My third selection of the day comes from Carlisle and within the 3.30, which is a Class 4 handicap that’s ridden over five furlongs. I’m with Mostar Dreams here, who represents Jim Goldie and the mount of Paul Mulrennan. She ran well on her seasonal reappearance at Doncaster last month, when finishing half of a length second of ten, and he’s only been nudged up a pound in the weights for that outing. If she turns up in the same form, she should go well again at a course where she’s got form in the past. Mostar Dreams – 9/2 (Each-Way) (NB)
4.45 Redcar: Watch Racing TV In Stunning HD Handicap: Signing me off for the day will be the 4.45 at Redcar, and this is a Class 5 handicap that’s contested over six furlongs. I’ve come down on Novello Lad here for the team of Paul Midgley and David Nolan. He posted a reasonable effort on his seasonal reappearance at Doncaster last month when finishing half of a length second of then, in what was his first run in eight months. He should come on significantly for that outing and can go well here off what looks to be a manageable mark. Novello Lad – 7/2 (Win)
