Kempton Lingfield

Tuesday Tips. (01/04/25)

Tuesday 1st April 2025

2.02 Lingfield: Download The Raceday Ready App Apprentice Handicap: The first of my three selections in April get underway in the 2.02 at Lingfield on Tuesday and this is a Class 5 apprentice handicap over six furlongs. I’m with Tyger Bay here for Conrad Allen and Joe Leavy. He’s a three-time course and distance winner with each of those victories coming off considerably higher marks and within higher grades. He ran well in a Class 4 event last time out at Southwell last month, finishing fourth of ten and staying on strongly despite not being the best away from the stalls. I think he can be bang there in a race of this nature. Tyger Bay – 8/1 (Each-Way)

2.52 Kempton: Racing TV In HD Every Day Novices’ Handicap Hurdle: My second selection comes from Kempton and in the 2.52 and this is a Class 5 handicap hurdle that’s contested over two miles. I like Graham here for the team of Gary & Josh Moore who’s the mount of Niall Houlihan. He was an 80-rated horse on the flat and showed improvement from his maiden form on handicap debut at Plumpton last month when finishing third of five. He’s been dropped a further two pounds for that effort and back on good ground here he could well improve again, which would see him as a player. Graham – 2/1 (Win)

4.48 Lingfield: Download The Racecourse App Raceday Ready Handicap: The third selection for me comes within the 4.48 at Lingfield and this is a Class 4 handicap on the all-weather over a mile. I’m siding with Port Road in this for Simon Dow and Paddy Bradley. He’s an eight-race maiden, however, he’s run well without winning in most of his outings. Most recently, he finished second of eight at Kempton over seven furlongs and kept on in the closing stages. That run suggested that the step back up to eight should suit and he should be breaking his maiden tag soon. Port Road – 6/1 (Each-Way)
