Chelmsford

Thursday Tips. (27/02/25)

Thursday 27th February 2025

6.00 Chelmsford: Best Odds Guaranteed At bet365 Handicap: My first selection of the evening on Thursday and the first of three picks from Chelmsford comes within the 6.00 which is a Class 6 handicap over seven furlongs. I’m with Just Rita here for David Loughnane and Conor Planas who takes off three pounds. She’s a fourteen-race maiden; however, she’s run well on several occasions, including on her most recent outing, which came at Southwell back in January, when she finished second of eight. That was her second start for this stable and if she progresses again from that run she can have a serious say off effectively a three pound lower mark. Just Rita – 11/1 (Each-Way)

7.00 Chelmsford: Bet Boost At bet365 Handicap: My second selection of the evening comes within the 7.00 and this is more Class 6 handicap action, this time over a distance of a mile and five and a half furlongs. I’m with Mhajim in this for the team of Chelsea Banham and Joey Haynes. He’s not won since his novice days but he’s posted several good efforts in several of his most recent efforts. He’s been dropped a further couple of pounds since his last run and this step up in trip may bring out further improvement given that he has stayed on strongly over twelve furlongs in the past. I think that he can go well. Mhajim – 6/1 (Each-Way)

8.30 Chelmsford: It’s Never Ordinary At bet365 Handicap: My third and final selection comes within the 8.30 and this is a Class 4 handicap that’s ridden over a distance of a mile. I’m strong on the chances of Tempus in this particular contest for Archie Watson and Hollie Doyle. He’s only been beaten by a couple of lengths in his last two outings on the all-weather, and most notably, he’s now twenty-four below his last winning mark which came off 108. He’s got some very classy form to his name in previous seasons and despite being nine he should retain enough ability to make his presence felt within this company. Tempus – 5/1 (Each-Way)
