12.40 Huntingdon: Advertise Your Business At Huntingdon Racecourse Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle: Kicking things off for me on Thursday will be the 12.40 at Huntingdon which is a Class 5 conditional jockeys handicap over two miles and three and a half furlongs. I’m with Sangiovese here for Gary & Josh Moore who’s the mount of Caoilin Quinn who takes off three pounds. He’s not been seen for nearly a year, however, he was progressing well last term since going handicapping having had form figures of 122. A lot of his rivals in this assignment have sketchy form to say the least and if he’s ready to go he could take some beating off this mark. Sangiovese – 3/1 (Win)
2.10 Doncaster: Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Maiden Hurdle: It’s over to Doncaster for my second pick of the afternoon and this is the 2.10 which is Class 4 maiden hurdle action over two miles and half of a furlong. I’m strong on the chances of Beau Quali here for the team of Dan Skelton and Tristan Durrell who takes off three pounds. He was going the best when falling at Newcastle last time out in January and prior to that finished two and a quarter of a length behind the exciting Kientzheim in second at Kempton on Boxing Day. He sets the standard by a fair margin on that run and it would be disappointing should he not get the job done here. Beau Quali – 4/5 (Win) (NAP)
2.45 Doncaster: Virgin Bet Daily Price Boosts Handicap Hurdle: I’m staying at Doncaster for my third selection of the day and the 2.45 which is a Class 3 handicap hurdle that’s ridden over two miles and three and a half furlongs. I’ve come down on Shanagh Bob here for Nicky Henderson and Freddie Gordon who takes off three pounds. He ran well in a Class 2 handicap hurdle at Huntingdon last month when finishing second of ten, and will effectively contest this off a pound lower mark with the rider’s claim coming into play. He’s a horse who’s always promised to be useful and a race of this nature should be within his grasp. Shanagh Bob – 5/1 (Each-Way)
3.05 Ffos Las: 3A’s Leisure Handicap Chase: My fourth selection comes from Ffos and within the 3.05 which is Class 5 handicap chase action over three miles. I’ve sided with Abbeyhill here for Neil Mulholland and Richie McLernon. He won off a couple of pounds higher than this over hurdles just over twelve months ago, and most notably, that success came on heavy ground which he’s likely to encounter here. His run last time out at Market Rasen when a distant third wasn’t without hope and the testing going here could bring out improvement. Abbeyhill – 9/1 (Each-Way)
4.40 Huntingdon: Purchase Hospitality At Huntingdon In 2025 Open NH Flat Race: Signing me off for the day will be the 4.40 at Huntingdon which is a Class 5 National Hunt Flat Race that’s ridden over two miles. I like Draco Malfoy here for Kim Bailey and Mat Nicholls who’s set to be ridden by Tom Bellamy. He’s a point winner who progressed from his first run under rules at Uttoxeter when finishing fourth of eight to finish third of twelve here last month and two and three-quarters of a length behind the winner. He should naturally progress again from that run and if that’s the case he should be the one they have to beat. Draco Malfoy – 9/2 (Win) (NB)
