2.00 Wincanton: #90 January & February Hospitality Offer Handicap Hurdle: The first of my two selections on Thursday comes at Wincanton and within the 2.00 which is a Class 5 handicap hurdle over a mile and seven furlongs. I like the chances of St Lukes Chelsea here for the team of Robert Walford and Ben Godfrey. He’s progressed with each start to date over hurdles and was only narrowly denied at Fontwell on his latest start when finishing half of a length second of ten. He could’ve possibly won that day had it not been for a mistake at the second last and I’ll side with him to go one better on this occasion. St Lukes Chelsea – 11/2 (Each-Way)
5.30 Chelmsford: Racing Welfare Restricted Maiden Stakes: My second selection comes within the 5.30 at Chelmsford and this is a Class 5 maiden event on the all-weather over seven furlongs. I like the fantastically named Kev here for Tom Ward and Sean Levey. He progressed notably from his debut effort to finish a neck second of twelve behind Lovesick at Wolverhampton back in December, keeping on strongly in the closing stages. That was a fine effort and if he’s to progress again he’s got to be considered a serious player in this particular affair. Kev – 11/4 (Win)
