12.52 Southwell: Weekly £5 Free Bet With BetUK Handicap: Getting us underway on Tuesday will be the 12.52 from Southwell which is a Class 5 handicap over six furlongs. In this open-looking affair, I’ve come down on Triple Charged for the team of Karl Burke and Clifford Lee. He didn’t manage to beat a single rival home in his first two handicaps on the turf back in the summer, however, he posted a much-improved effort following a break over course and distance last month when finishing fifth of ten and two and three-quarters of a length behind the winner. He also suffered interference in the run that day, meaning he could have finished closer yet the handicapper has dropped him a pound. If he gets a clearer passage on this occasion he’s got every chance of posting a big run. Triple Charged – 11/4 (Win)
1.52 Southwell: Win £1M With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap: My second selection of the day also comes from Southwell and in the 1.52 which is a Class 6 handicap over seven furlongs. I’m taking a chance on Al Shabab here for Ian Williams and Richard Kingscote. I actually put him up on his latest outing where he finished fifth of ten at Wolverhampton last week. That run made it seventeen without a victory for him, however, he did travel into the race well on that occasion without finding a great deal in the closing stages. That effort gave the impression that this drop back down to seven should suit and he’s knocked on the door off marks higher than today’s. Al Shabab – 8/1 (Each-Way)
4.13 Newcastle: Weekly Free Bets With BetMGM Extra Handicap: It’s over to Newcastle for my third selection and the 4.13 which is a Class 5 handicap over seven furlongs. I’m with Swiss Ace here who represents the team of Ruth Carr and Billy Loughnane. His form figures don’t tell the full story of his recent form, as he’s not been too far away as of late, and all of his previous runs have come in a higher grade than this. He was just two lengths behind King’s School last time out over course and distance and I think he’s got every chance of turning the form around with that rival here. He’s now two pounds lower than his last win which came over course and distance, and he should be making his presence felt here in his first run within Class 5 company. Swiss Ace – 3/1 (Win)
6.15 Newcastle: BetMGM: It’s Showtime Handicap: My fourth and final selection is another from Newcastle and in the 6.15 which is another Class 5 handicap, this time over a mile. I like Cusack here for the combination of David Thompson and Sean Kirrane. He’s bounced back to life in his last two starts, most notably in his latest effort when just beaten a head here over ten furlongs at the end of December. He’s been left on the same mark for this particular assignment which is seven pounds below his last winning one. He’s a three-time course and distance winner and has to be considered a live player on the back of that last run. Cusack – 9/2 (Each-Way)
