Lingfield

Sunday Tips. (12/01/25)

Sunday 12th January 2025

12.42 Lingfield: Win £1M With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Classified Stakes: My first selection of the day on Sunday comes within the 12.42 at Lingfield which is a Class 6 classified event over seven furlongs. I like Seas Of Elzaam here for John Butler and Daniel Muscutt. He’s been sliding down the weights having not won for a while but posted his best effort for a while at Wolverhampton last time out, finishing fifth of twelve and just a length and three-quarters behind the winner. He’s now twelve pounds below his last winning mark and if he follows up from his last run he can have a big say in this. Seas Of Elzaam – 6/1 (Each-Way)

2.12 Lingfield: Extra Winnings With BetUK Acca Club Classified Stakes: Next up for me is the 2.12 which is another Class 6 classified affair this time over six furlongs. I’m with Fai Fai here for Daniel Steele and Rhys Clutterbuck. I put him up for the meeting here on Friday which got cancelled and I’ll reiterate what I said in that blog, he posted his best effort for a while over course and distance last time out and that run came within a Class 4 handicap, two grades higher than what he’s contesting here. If he turns up in the same kind of form for this particular assignment he should be going very close here, albeit he no longer has a claim coming off his back. Fai Fai – 9/2 (Each-Way)

2.42 Lingfield: Boost Your Acca At BetMGM Handicap: My third selection of the day comes within the 2.42 which is a Class 6 handicap that’s ridden over a mile. I’m taking a chance on I Can’t Believe here for David Evans and Jordan Williams who takes off five pounds. He’s an eight-race maiden, however, he ran his best race to date last time out at Wolverhampton when fifth of ten and three lengths behind the winner. He pressed the leaders that day coming into the straight before fading which suggests this drop down back to a mile should suit. He’s also been dropped a further two pounds and has every chance again at this level. I Can’t Believe – 6/1 (Each-Way)

3.12 Lingfield: Free Bets With BetUK Bet Club Handicap: Signing me off for the day will be the 3.12 which is a Class 5 handicap over a mile and five furlongs. I’m strong on the chances of Tortured Soul here for Tony Carroll and Neil Callan, who’s another horse I put for Friday’s cancelled meeting. This is over a slightly further trip than Friday’s event, however, I still think he should prove very tough to beat on the back of his success at Wolverhampton last time out. He stayed on strongly in that particular assignment which gives the impression that this extra furlong shouldn’t be an issue at all. Tortured Soul – 3/1 (Win)
