2.05 Market Rasen: Lucas Machinery Handicap Chase: It’s over to Market Rasen for my first selection of the day on Thursday and the 2.05 which is a Class 5 handicap chase that is contested over a distance of two miles and five and a half furlongs. I like Kankin in this for Alex Hales and Kielan Woods. He was a fine second of seven on his first run following a break at Plumpton last month when staying on all the way to the line, and he’s also only a couple of pounds higher than his last winning mark. He should go well here if he comes on from his last outing. Kankin – 7/2 (Win)
2.15 Taunton: South West Rail Solutions Ltd Maiden Hurdle: Next up for me will be the 2.15 from Taunton which is a Class 4 maiden hurdle over two miles and three furlongs. I think that this can go to Tout Sur Moi for Jane Williams and David Noonan. He comes into the contest still a maiden after six starts, however, has placed within handicap company on his last two outings, with her most recent run coming at Wincanton last month. He can put that experience to good effect here and it would be disappointing should he not go very close in this. Tout Sur Moi – 15/8 (Win)
2.25 Sedgefield: Woodlands Hospital Darlington – Circle Health Group Handicap Chase: My third selection of the afternoon comes in the 2.25 at Sedgefield which is a Class 5 handicap chase over three miles and two and a half furlongs. I’m strong on the chances of Illogical Logic here for Christian Williams and Brian Hughes. He’s a ten-race maiden, however, comes into the race on a tumbling mark and posted his best effort to date last month at Fakenham when second of six. He should build on that here and a bold showing should be on the cards. Illogical Logic – 5/4 (Win) (NAP)
3.25 Taunton: Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Mares’ Handicap Hurdle: Signing me off for the day will be the 3.25 at Taunton which is a Class 4 handicap hurdle that’s ridden over two miles and three furlongs. I’m with Getmetothemoon here for Anthony Honeyball and Chad Bament who takes off ten pounds. She fell when last seen at Stratford in the summer but before that was in solid form, winning a mares handicap, also at Stratford, before finishing third of thirteen at Newton Abbot the time after. She gets a big weight coming off his back here from her rider and looks like a very live player. Getmetothemoon – 2/1 (Win) (NB)
