2.35 Musselburgh: Musselburgh Annual Membership Handicap: I’m returning to action on Wednesday and kicking things off with the 2.35 at Musselburgh which is a Class 6 handicap that’s ridden over seven furlongs. I like Black Friday in this for the team of Mike Smith and Joanna Mason. He was three and a quarter of a length behind stablemate Golden Valour last month, but is now much better at the weights with that rival this time around. He’s also now fourteen pounds lower than his last winning mark which also came over course and distance, I think he can have a serious say in this. Black Friday – 8/1 (Each-Way) (4 place firms)
2.50 Kempton: Unibet Zero% Mission Maiden Fillies’ Stakes: Next up for me is the 2.50 a Kempton which is a Class 5 fillies maiden over a mile. This looks like a good opportunity for Scarlet Princess to open her account for the team of Charlie Appleby and Dougie Costello. She’s a Kingman filly who posted a promising effort on debut over course and distance last month when finishing third of thirteen and three lengths behind the winner. She was slowly into stride that day and kept on well to get into the placings, it would be disappointing should she not improve for that run and post a big effort here. Scarlet Princess – 9/4 (Win) (NB)
3.25 Kempton: Unibet Zero% Mission Maiden Fillies’ Stakes: My third selection of the afternoon also comes from Kempton and in the 3.25 which is division two of the fillies maiden. I’m strong on Zanzoun here for John & Thady Gosden who’s the mount of Kieran Shoemark. She’s hit the frame in both of her starts to date and was closer to the winner last time out than on her racecourse despite finishing third on that particular occasion. She sets the standard here on all known form and if continuing to progress should prove a tough nut to crack. Zanzoun – 2/1 (Win) (NAP)
3.42 Musselburgh: Join Racing TV Now Handicap: Signing me off for the afternoon will be the 3.42 from Musselburgh which is a Class 6 handicap over two miles. There should be more to come from Reel Her In here who represents the team of Ben Haslam and Paul Mulrennan. She comes in great form having won her last two outings, both of which came at this track with the latest effort over the distance also. She met trouble in running last time, yet still managed to get her head in front and there should be more to come from here off just a two-pound higher mark. Reel Her In – 9/4 (Win)
