3.50 Bath: Blackmore Building Contractors Nursery Handicap: We’re back in action after a couple of days off and we kick things off in October with a Class 5 nursery over five and a half furlongs at Bath. I like Saytarr here for Charlie Fellows and Callum Shepherd. He’s been improving steadily with each start and should give a bold showing here on the back of his neck second last time out at Ffos Las. That effort also came on testing ground and off just a pound lower mark. Saytarr – 9/4 (Win) (NAP)

4.15 Cork: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Navigation Stakes: It’s over to Cork now for their 4.15 which is the Listed Navigation Stakes over a mile. I’m taking a chance on Magical Sunset here for Adrian Murray and David Egan. She drops down in grade here having been tried in Group 1s the last twice, before several solid efforts in Group 2 and 3 company, which included a fine run at Royal Ascot. She handles all ground and if she runs up to her best level has every chance of featuring at a nice price. Magical Sunset – 9/1 (Each-Way)

4.25 Bath: Floyds Turfcare And Weed Solutions Handicap: It’s back over to Bath for my third selection of the afternoon and the 4.25 which is a Class 5 handicap over five and a half furlongs. I’m going with one at a huge price here in Miss Bella Brand for Mrs Ilka Gansera-Leveque and Benoit De La Sayette. She looks well treated here off her current mark and acts on soft ground, particularly under today’s rider. This trip should also suit and I think she can outrun her odds. Miss Bella Brand – 20/1 (Each-Way)

5.25 Bath: CB Protection Event Security Specialists Handicap: My fourth and final selection of the day comes in the 5.25 at Bath which is a Class 6 handicap over a mile and two furlongs. I like Sonnet Star here for Stuart Kittow and Tom Marquand. She’s still a maiden but has run well now on several occasions, including her most recent effort when second at Ffos Las on heavy ground back in August. She’ll contest this low-grade affair off the same mark and it could well be her day to get her head in front. Sonnet Star – 6/1 (NB) (Each-Way)
