2.25 Sandown: bet365 Gordon Richards Stakes: My first punt of the day on Friday comes from Sandown and the Group 3 Gordon Richard Stakes over a mile and two furlongs. I’m siding with Israr here who’s currently a 3/1 chance for the team of John & Thady Gosden and Jim Crowley. The yards have been needing the run so far this term, however, he should be fit having run at Doha a couple of months ago. He’s a Group 2 winner and is the top-rated here and I think he can make his presence felt. Israr – 3/1 (Win)
2.50 Cork: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Noblesse Stakes: Next up it’s over to Cork and the 2.50 which is Listed action in the form of the Noblesse Stakes over a mile and four furlongs. I like Trevaunance here for Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley who’s currently a 6/1 chance in the betting. She’s a Group 2 and 3 winner and was recently seen trying her hand in Meydan, also in pattern races. This represents an ease in grade for her and she should also come into the race with fitness on her side. It would be disappointing should she not go well in this. Trevaunance – 6/1 (Each-Way)
3.08 Doncaster: EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes: My third selection of the afternoon comes from Doncaster and in a fillies’ maiden over a mile and four furlongs. I think that this looks like a very good opportunity for Juneberry to open her account for John & Thady Gosden. She’s the mount of Robert Havlin here and should come on a great deal for her seasonal reappearance at Kempton earlier in the month where she finished third of five. The form of that race has since been franked and she looks like a massive player in this. Juneberry – 4/6 (Win) (NAP)
3.35 Sandown: bet365 Classic Trial: It’s back down to Sandown for my fourth selection of the day which is the Group 3 Classic Trial over a mile and two furlongs. I think that this is all about Arabian Crown for the team of Charlie Appleby and William Buick. He looked very impressive on his last two starts, with his most recent success coming when winning the Group 3 Zetland Stakes at Newmarket back in October by five-and-a-half lengths. That’s the best form on offer here and it would be disappointing should he not put on a very bold show. Arabian Crown – 5/6 (Win) (NB)
4.55 Doncaster: Club Doncaster Handicap: My concluding selection of the day comes from Doncaster and in the 4.55 which is handicap action over a mile and four furlongs. I’m chancing Clear White Light here for Adrian Keatley and Harry Russell. He won on his most recent outing at Catterick on heavy going having previously being hurdling, and he still looks reasonably well treated here. He’ll have race-fitness on his side and I think he’s got every chance of putting in another bold showing. Clear White Light – 9/2 (Win)
