2.05 Beverley: William Hill Beverley Bullet Sprint Stakes: We kick things off this week with the 2.05 at Beverley which is the Listed Beverley Bullet Sprint Stakes over five furlongs. I’m with Commanche Falls here, he’s an admirable servant to his yard and ran well once again last time out in a Heritage Handicap at York. He should have a fine chance in this particular assignment on the figures. Commanche Falls – 3/1 (Win) (NB)
2.25 Sandown: Sky Bet Atalanta Stakes: My second selection of the afternoon comes in the 2.25 at Sandown which is the Group 3 Atalanta Stakes for Fillies & Mares over a mile. I’m taking a chance on Doom here against the short-priced favourite for William Haggas and Tom Marquad. She’s got a progressive profile and posted a fine effort last time out when second behind Friendly Soul in the Group 3 Valiant Stakes at Ascot. If she’s to progress again she can have a big say. Doom – 8/1 (Each-Way)
3.15 Chester: Virgin Bet Chester Stakes: It’s over to Chester for my third selection of the day and this is the Listed Chester Stakes over a mile and six and a half furlongs. I’ve sided with Samui here for Gordon Elliott and Oisin Orr. He was a staying on second in the Ebor last week at York and if that race hasn’t left its mark he can have a big say once again in this. He’s won over a mile and two furlongs earlier in his career so I’m not overly concerned about the drop in trip and his form looks more solid than most here. Samui – 11/2 (Each-Way)
3.35 Sandown: Sky Bet Solario Stakes: My fourth and final selection comes back at Sandown and in the Group 3 Solario Stakes over seven furlongs. I’m strong on the chances of Field Of Gold here for John & Thady Gosden and Kieran Shoemark. He’s an expensive purchase who made a big impression last time out when winning well at Newmarket’s July Festival. It’s likely that there is a lot more to come and he’s the one they have to beat here for me. Field Of Gold – 13/8 (Win) (NAP)
