Lady Wulfruna Stakes Day

Feature Meeting: Wolverhampton

2.40: Lady Wulfruna Stakes: My first punt of this week’s Saturday Preview comes in the 2.40 which is the Listed Lady Wulfrana Stakes over seven furlongs. I think that this is all about Shouldvebeenaring for Richard Hannon and Sean Levey. He’s considerably clear on ratings here and comes into the race having placed in Group 1 company on his last two outings, in the Prix de la Foret and the Sprint Cup. This is by far the best form on offer here and if he takes to the surface he should prove very tough to beat. Shouldvebeenaring – 11/8 (Win) (NAP)

3.15: BetMGM Lincoln Trial Handicap: Next up is the 3.15 which is the Lincoln Trial that’s a handicap that’s ridden over a mile and a furlong and a half. I’m taking a chance on the very likeable Sir Busker here who represents William Knight and Brandon Wilkie who takes off five pounds. He’s posted a couple of solid efforts on the all-weather on his latest two outings and arrives here looking on a very tempting mark based on some of his notable past form, taking his rider’s claim into consideration. If getting some luck in the run he can go well in this at a decent price. Sir Busker – 9/1 (Each-Way)

3.50: Build Your Acca With BetUK Handicap: My third selection of the afternoon comes in the 3.50 which is the first division of a Class 5 handicap over a mile and a furlong and a half. I’m with Harbour Vision here for Scott Dixon and Elisha Whittington who takes off three pounds. He’s an ultra-consistent sort who won over course and distance here a couple of weeks ago, he’s been raised three pounds for that success but Whittington’s claim will that off and he should be poised to go well again. Harbour Vision – 6/1 (Each-Way)

4.25: Build Your Acca With BetUK Handicap: The second division of the handicap comes up at 4.25 and in this particular affair I like the chances of Lafan who’s the mount of Liam Keniry and currently a best price of 7/2. He progressed from his seasonal reappearance to finish third last time out at Chelmsford and should be going close again here. He’s a course and distance winner and will contest this off a mark just three pounds higher than his last winning one. Lafan – 9/2 (Win)

5.00: BetUK. Home Of The Acca Handicap: My fifth and final selection of the afternoon comes in the 5.00 which is more handicap action, this time over six furlongs. I like Al Barez here for the team of Tom Clover and Jack Mitchell. He’s a course and distance winner who ran a fine race on his first run of the campaign at Kempton last month when finishing third of eleven, and half a length behind the winner. He’s still on what looks like a competitive mark and I believe he’s a big player here. Al Barez – 11/2 (Each-Way)
