2.30: Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Handicap Hurdle: I’m kicking things off on Friday with the 2.30 which is a handicap hurdle over two miles. This is an ordinary affair, however, I think Cancan can go well for Nick Alexander and Bruce Lynn who takes off three pounds. He’s a course and distance winner who often gives a decent account of himself with a string of placed efforts to his name as of late. He’s a pound lower since a third-placed effort at Musselburgh last time out and he’s got every chance of getting closer in this. Cancan – 11/4 (Win)

3.00: Weatherbys Cheltenham Festival Guide Handicap Hurdle: I’m moving onto the 3.00 for my second selection of the afternoon which is more handicap hurdle action, this time over a distance of two miles and four and a half furlong. I like Beat The Retreat here who’s another one for Nick Alexander and this time the mount of Danny McMenamin. He won at the track a few starts back and was a decent third last time out at Musselburgh, the form of most of these is questionable to say the least and he looks like a solid option. Beat The Retreat – 15/2 (Each-Way)

3.30: Weatherbys Digital Solutions Handicap Chase: My third selection of the afternoon comes in the 3.30 which is a handicap chase ridden over two miles and four and a half furlongs. I’m with Artic Row here who’s yet another representative for Nick Alexander, and this time the mount of Sean Quinlan. He’s won two of last three outings with one of those victories coming over course and distance. This is another contest of which there is a lot of poor form on show, whereas the selection looks to be rock solid if he gets a clear round. Artic Row – 11/4 (Win)

4.00: Virgin Bet Cheltenham Festival Money Back Handicap Chase: Signing me off for the afternoon is the 4.00 which is more handicap chase action this time over three miles. I like the chances of Heritier De Sivola here for the team of Phillip Kirby and Joe Williamson who takes off five pounds. He was a length second on his most recent outing which came at this track back last month. That was his best run of the season by some way, and if building on that effort he’s got to be considered as a serious player. Heritier De Sivola – 7/2 (Win) (NAP)
